A Case of Sudden Hearing Loss due to Posterior Inferior Cerebellar Artery Infarction
Park Jung-A

Lee Dong-Kuck
Abstract
It is well known that acute audiovestibular loss occurs commonly in acute ischemic stroke around the anterior inferior cerebellar artery (AICA). But acute hearing loss associated with non-AICA terrirory cerebellar infarction has been reported rarely. A 77-year-old woman visited for acute vertigo and following left hearing loss. The brain MRI showed acute infarction of left posterior inferior cerebellar artery (PICA) territory. Sudden hearing loss and vertigo may be a presentation of PICA infarction.
